A message from HMB Director, Dr. Brad McDavid:

Dear Husky Band and Cheer Alumni,

With this being my last week as the director, it is with enormous excitement that I am reaching out to inform all of you that the Athletic Department administration has temporarily concluded the search. As such, I am excited to share with all of you that current Associate Director, Corey Jahlas, has been named the interim Director of Athletic Bands for this coming year. I could not be more proud and thrilled for Corey and I have no doubt that he is going to do an incredible job of guiding the program through this next year and into the Big 10.

After concluding the search process, the committee ultimately decided that a search for the new permanent director will be launched again in late fall/early winter with the hope of having the full-time position filled by next Spring. The administration has also assured Corey that he will also receive every opportunity to be considered for the permanent position.

As I prepare to pass the baton to Corey, whether I had the joy and honor of being your director, or the opportunity to maintain the history and traditions that were already an important part of the band prior to my arrival, it’s been such a pleasure and incredible privilege to serve as the band’s fourth director.

My most sincere thanks for your support over these last 30 years and I’ll be excited to experience with all of you Corey’s creativity and dedication to the history and traditions of the HMB!

Again, my heartfelt thanks, and please join me in congratulating Corey!

As always…GO DAWGS!

Brad
